This might be the best Ragnarok low rate server I have ever played. Since my experience on early days of Official servers I have never had such a pleasent experience. The community is welcoming and helpful, the class balances issued on the server are really well thought and make all classes fun to play. The staff is incredibly friendly and the economy is such as a new player can easily get things going. I recommend everyone to try out

Excellent server when you want to reminiscence the Ragnarok of old times. Rates feel just right with 1x drop rates except for a 0.01 boost for cards. The class rebalancing has been done with great care and makes for more diversity and the only negative in my opinion is the existence of super novices. SNs are an abomination of nature and an affront to Odin, but when considering all the positives of Payon Stories I can tolerate them.

I created an account after decades for this review. This server is a work of love. There are custom maps, custom art, well made and well balanced items and sets. All classes are tuned to be more fun to play and most builds are balanced to work, Dagger sin, Holy Cross Templar, Falconer Hunter, Mace Battle Priest, Melee Ninja are all viable and unique experiences. I recommend this to anyone who likes well managed servers, it's the best I've ever played. There is zero P2W BS.

RO was my first MMO ever, and Payon Stories is, hands down, the best server I've ever played in. It delivers on what it promises, a fresh and simultaneously nostalgic experience, but most importantly, it makes you feel like you are an active part of it. The GMs work diligently with the players to deliver the best experience possible while striving to maintain a healthy community. If you're looking for a good mix between traditional and creative, this server is it.

Awesome low rate server with a passionate playerbase and staff. The game keeps getting better with each new patch. And the last recent update massively improved Assassin with some well thought-out tweaks.

Payon stories is a great server, i cant remember the last time i found a good and opulated server without a cash shop, 0 p2w options and a with good sized community, if your looking for a low rate server with good rebalance on the classes and no pay to win i highly recommend this one!

Coming back to RO after a 14ish year gap, jumped from server to server, this has been the most enjoyable experience so far. low rates, active community, plenty of opportunities as a new player to get involved and establish a foothold. Do recommend for the oldschool feel, the balance changes for classes are tastefully done imo, and the custom content isnt intrusive if thats not your thing.

First server I play with character customization. I'm glad the GM staff actually works to balance everything constantly. The server population is good enough. Started playing on this server like 2 months ago and was greeted by a very friendly community that helped me out starting my first Character. The 1x rates (more like 1.5xish due to custom balancing) and the early patch progression feels like im playing Ragnarok like it was back in 2004. The staff is very friendly and available when needed. The custom content and balance changes feel very good especially because the players give constant feedback on the changes.
